Comments:- Recording of a performance at the MET. There were performance with the cast listed above on 12 and 15 April 1968 and on 20 April the cast was the same except that Ulrica was sung by Jean Madiera. The excerpts issued by Gala are a «filler» on the CDs of the recording of Der fliegende Holländer. Presumably the recording was made at one of the dates just mentioned, but I do not know which. As none of these performances was broadcast the recording must have been made «in-house».

Comments:- This appears to be a recording of the performance on 11 April 1973 as this was the only performance of «Il trovatore» at the MET in 1973 in which the four principle singers listed by Celestial appeared together. The cast listed above is that given in the online data base of The Metropolitan Opera. This performance was not broadcast so, presumably, the recording was made «in-house».
