Comments:- Recording of a performance in The Royal Opera House, Covent Garden (10 June 1995). It appears that this performance was not broadcast so, presumably, the recording was made «in-house». Charles Handelman list Vaduva as singing (Mimi?) in his catalogue (November 2000, p.12), but according to the projected cast list in OPERA (May 1995 p.553) Mimi was to have been Cynthia Hayman. Possibly she was ill and Vaduva replaced her. The performances on 29 May 1995 (with Hayman) and on 8 June 1995 (with Beltran and Hayman) are reviewed in OPERA August 1995 pp.984-985, 987-988. The Compact Cassettes issued by Lyric are included in their «New Listings - November 1995» and those issued by Charles Handelman are listed in his catalogue dated November 2000. Hayman is listed by Lyric and in HOO's online catalogue.

Comments:- The LPs issued on the HRE label are advertized in GRAMOPHONE April 1984 p.1239 and listed in ARS ANTIQUA'S list No.240, August 2001 p.35 (no.2442), while the CDRs issued by House of Opera are included in the list of new releases added to their website in December 2003 «03/12/22». The recording is presumably of a performance at Covent Garden in May 1974 (HOO gives 17 May) where 7 performances were given with the above cast except that Rodrigo was sung by Adrian De Peyer in only six of them (see OPERA October 1974 p.913). I do not know if he sang in the performance(s) in these recordings. Verdi's Disco gives Leslie Fyson (normally a baritone or bass) as singing this role (http://verdisdisco.de - hyperlink in CLORLINK.HTM). As far as I can ascertain none of the performances was broadcast, so the recording would presumably have been made «in house». The performance on 1 May 1974 is reviewed in OPERA July 1974 pp.639-640
