Comments:- The LPs issued by HRE are advertized in GRAMOPHONE April 1984 p.1239 and the CDs issued by Ponto are listed on their website (see CLORHTML.HTM). Both HRE and Ponto give the the year of the performance recorded as 1983. The recording is ascribed in L'AVANT SCÈNE OPÉRA No.85 pp.105-106 and in Steiger «Opern - Ein Verzeichnis aller Aufname» p.317 to San Francisco 1982, but it appears that Mario Bernadi conducted these performances with different singers in the roles of Clorinda, Thisbe and Alcindoro from those given by L'AVANT SCÈNE and Steiger (and Ponto). (See OPERA July 1982 p.715, January 1983 p.22; OPÉRA INTERNATIONAL janvier 1983 No.55 p.36). The CDs issued on the Ponto label are reviewed on the internet .

Comments:- Recorded on 29 May 1968 and broadcast on 11 June 1968. «At recent rehearsals of Rossini's L'Italiana in Algeri in Turin for Radio Italiana, the conductor, Carlo Franci, took exception to the vocal decorations supplied by Henry Lewis, Marilyn Horne's husband for the role of Isabella. Franco Siciliani, the director of Radio Italiana, called in Rodolfo Celletti who, to quote the New York Times, 'examined Miss Horne's appoggiaturas and decided that they were thoroughly Rossinian'» (OPERA August 1968 p.667). Comments:- Recording of a performance at La Scala (15 April 1975). The date given in Opera d'Oro's online catalogue (15 May 1975) appears to be incorrect. The performance on 26 April 1975 (with Ugo Benelli instead of Luigi Alva) is reviewed in OPERA September 1975 p.876. According to the review in FANFARE the sound on the CDs issued by Opera d'Oro is very poor. I do not know if the sound of the CDs issued in their «Grand Tier» series or on those issued by Myto is better.
