Comments:- *Recording of a performance at the Vienna State Opera. The CDRs issued by House of Opera were listed in their online catalogue (January 2003) where the date of the performance recorded was given as «2/17/97». However, according to the «Chronik der Wiener Staatsoper 1995-2000» Rostropovich only conducted Peter Grimes at the Vienna State Opera between 12 and 29 February 1996. On 17 February 1997 Don Giovanni was performed at the Vienna State Opera. The performance of Peter Grimes at the Vienna State Opera on 12 February 1996 is reviewed in ORPHEUS Mai 1996 S.53-S.54. The CDRS issued by Premiere are listed in «New Releases - October 2006». Here the date of the performance recorded is given as «2/17/96».
