Comments:- The Compact Cassettes issued by Charles Handelman are listed in his catalogue dated November 2000 where the performance that was recorded is attributed to Pisa on 4 September 1990. However, according to «Opera '91 - Annuario EDT dell'opera Lirica in Italia» Cavalleria Rusticana was not performed in Pisa on that day, but it was performed in the Teatro La Gran Guardia di Livorno with the cast indicated by Handelman. I have assumes this to be the correct attribution; i.e. the recording is of the same performance as that issued on CD by foné.

Comments:- The recording on the CDRs issued by HOO appear to be of a performance at the Chicago Lyric Opera on 17 October 1990. These are included in the list of new releases added to HOO's website in December 2003 (12-22-2003). Here the recording is assigmed to Munich and the conductor is given as «Wakasugi», However, on the date that they give, 17 October 1990, La Fanciulla del West was performed in Chicago with the singers they give, Zschau, Domingo, Noble, conducted by Bartoletti. According to the Tenorissimo website, which is no longer active, Plácido Domingo has never sung Dick Johnson in Munich. The cast listed above is that given in «Bravi» by Skrebneski. The Compact Cassettes issued by Lyric are listed in «New Listings - January/February 1991». Here the recording is attributed correctly.
