Ópera Actual (Barcelona) - No.74 octubre 2004 p.83 [JV]
------------------------------------------------------------------
Comments:- The recording issued on the «Living Stage» label appears to be a recording of a performance at the MET in October or November 1972. The partial cast listed by «Living Stage» is Renata Scotto (Amina), Nicolai Gedda (Elvino), Bonaldo Giaiotti (Rodolfo), Colette Boky (Lisa), Giorgio Tozzi (Alessio) and the date is given 17 October 1972 (the first performance of the run). According to the MET online data base Colette Boky did not sing in any of the performances (in October or November 1972) and Giorgio Tozzi did not sing Alessio but did sing Rodolfo in some performances. Scotto and Gedda sang in the performances on 17, 24, 28 October and 15, 25 November. Tozzi sang Rodolfo on 17 October and 15 November, Giaiotti sang it on 24, 28 October and John Macurdy (not mentioned by Living Stage) sang it on 25 November. The rest of the cast was as given above except that on 15 November Lisa was sung by Betsy Norden and the Notary by Paul Franke. Amazon suggests that the recording was of the performance on 24 or 28 October presumably on the basis that Giaiotti is given a more prominent billing than Tozzi. Possibly the recording is a composite one made at more than one performance. None of the performances was broadcast. IF ANYONE HAS THIS RECORDING PLEASE SEND ME YOUR OPINION.
