Comments:- Recording of a performance at the Vienna State Opera (14 November 1955). This performance was badly reviewed by PH in OPERA, January 1956 p.28 . According to the review in the ARSC Journal the recording on the Melodram CDs is of a performance on 4 November 1955, a date which seems very unlikely given that the rebuilt opera house opened on 5 November 1955
